This program writes the map in real time as your bike is being run and put under load. You spend a little more up front but the result is a bike that runs at it’s peak for the options you have installed and that your air fuel ratio is a close to optimal as it can be for the selected components you have chosen. Dyno Tuning - "Feel the Difference" therapy for your motorcycle!!! A Dyno can show you different scenarios of what your bike would be like with different bolt-on accessories like a pipe and jet kit, different cams, a sprocket change, or another cam timing setting, etc. Thinking of getting a certain pipe or jet kit combination or accessory? The Dyno will show you the best way to go. It plays no favorites. It simply shows you who's product works and who's doesn't. The Dyno will show you exactly what you are going to get for your money before you even spend a dime. You can be confidant that, with a Dyno, you not only get what you're paying for, but that the job was done right. Since the coming of the Dyno age, all those gray areas in the performance and accessory end of the motorcycle industry have become pretty black and white. The dynamometer has also made a huge impact on the racing industry. Most racing teams use a dynamometer to tune their bikes. These days, you are at a disadvantage if you frequent a shop that does not have a Dyno. It has become the industry standard and a shop without one simply cannot provide the state-of-the-art technology and service that a shop with one can. Fifteen minutes in a Dyno can give you more information on your bike than five mechanics locked in a room for a weekend with it can. Just let us prove it... What is a dyno tune? What is horsepower and torque and air-fuel ratio? All motors produced today that are in legal production have to meet Federal EPA requirements and are generally on the lean side of the scale. Changing exhaust systems, mufflers, air filters, carburetors, and sometimes even spark plugs affect the way a motor performs. While making these changes may seem like the thing to do, one can end up with problems if these are not done properly. How do I know if I need a dyno tune? What options are there for my injected bike? 1. Power Commander. Metric bikes / Sport bikes are limited to the Power Commander. The Power Commander is a separate unit that is placed in line between the bike’s wire harness and the onboard ECM. This unit tells the original ECM what changes to make in fuel supple, timing, etc., to achieve the desired and expected results. It acts like an interpreter from one language to another. This actually works very well while leaving the factory ECM unchanged. The second option is the Screamin’ Eagle Race Tuner. This is a program that connects your bike to the computer with a black box, called a key. This key is married to your bike only, and cannot be used on any other bike. This key is the only access you have to your ECM for mapping. This program actually re-maps the factory ECM. This is a good option for a Harley with space problems under the seat. This option is the most costly and takes the most time. Why is a custom map better than a map downloaded off of the internet? Why are my pipes always black if the bike is not running rich?
